Default Motion Enhancer/Detail Enhancer and Wall Mount Questions (XBR4 owners)

Well, I posted on the question in that mega XBR owner thread, but no response, so I'll start a thread here

1) I was watching Troy again on blu and I noticed that in some of the actions, the residual motion image is quite noticeable, so I am wondering what is it that reduces the residual image and whats the con/pros of it? I am thinking its the motion enhencer, so I reduced it to Medium/Low, but still there a bit, but not quite as much.... I have calibrated based on some professional calibration settings I found on the internet and also in that XBR owners thread, so I think it is pretty well-calibrated at this point.

Also, those detail enhencers, do they really work as I dont think i have seen too much of a difference yet.

2) wall mount, what do all of you 50" plus TV use to hang it. I have those standard dry walls behind the TV, so I dont think it is that strong or at least I dont trust it. I'd very much like to hang my TV, so just wondering what do you guys use to mount your 50+ inch TV that weigh 100+ pounds. (Some pictures would be great!)

Thanks

I have a 52" xbr3 so I can't really answer your question about the motion enhancer but I have the same problem about hanging my t.v. The mounts for that size cost a ton and I am too scared to do it myself and too cheap to pay someone to do it.

I have my LCD on a stand, but have always made the assumption that the wall mounts would be screwed directly into the wall studs (at either 4 or 6 points), so the strength of the drywall would be irrelevant.

Yeah dry wall can't hold that. U need to screw it into a beam behind the wall. That will hold it but i read on the a/v forum that it's not good to hang lcd's past 42 inches anyway because over time it tends to compromise the tv as far as gravity/pull is concerned. But i don't see what the big deal would be if u hang it and just NEVER touch it like turning it to the sides like some people do. It's all relative i guess I know i went throug 2 tv's that i hanged and the 3rd one i just put it on a stand and have had no problems since. But that's just my experience with it.

I would definitly mount the bracket into studs only. I think if you were to try and mount it directly into the dry wall, you would wind up with your LCD face down on the floor with a huge chunk of the dry wall attatched to your mounting bracket.

I would definitely hang it onto the stud or the beam, but still a bit weary about it as I am also the type of "too cheap to hire someone and too weary of DIY". It is a HUGE and HEAVY TV.

I've always wanted a clean look. (hanging on the wall and hide the cables behind the dry wall) and I been thinking and searching on how I can do that this summer.

Also, most of the wall moutns I found at BB or CC are for UP TO 50" only and actually, I dont see many people hang 50" plus TVs onto walls, a lot of 40", 42", 46", but 50" plus, rare.
