I'm considering picking up Fool's Gold. But I don't want it if it is just another mindless chick flick. Has anyone seen it? Is this a film taylor-made "for the girls" or what?

Its more tolerable than the regular chick flick...theres a treasure hunting aspect with no overwhelming romance

It's a chick flick. The only slightly redeeming thing about this movie is the treasure hunting, and it's not even that good.

I just watched this movie, I would definately not call it a chick flick the guy who said poor mans jewel of the nile was dead on. Its more of an adventure than love story, that little hot ass girl (not kate hudson) in the bikini might be worth the watch in high def on blu.

i prefer Into the Blue for the whole tropical treasure hunt tho...

In my opinion... Yes it is, and a bad one at that. My girlfriend wanted to see it so we went, I wasn't entertained.

I saw it over the weekend with the wife and I have to say that its not entirely a 'chick flick', but its definately a romantic comedy walking a thin line of action.

I actually thought this was pretty entertaining. But I think McConaughey is funny and I like treasure hunting movies. Which there aren't too many of these days.
