Well, if there's nothing wrong with the player, then there would be no need for the update. As far as I'm concerned, the player is is running flawlessly and I've had no issues.

They're releasing updates, I'm sure, to make the player compatible with all the changes in the disks that create the issues people are having. I would rather see them hold back an update then too release one that didn't do the job it was designed to do. I seriously doubt there are mindless idiots running a multi-billion dollar a year company that don't know what they're doing.

I understand that, but as you can see, not everyone elses is. I have to use mine longer to see what problems I have with it, or dont have with it.

Samsung is an odd lot when it comes to releasing firmware updates. Just last week they released 1.6 for the BD-P1000, and then just yesterday released another update for the update. Same file name but it is different. Anyhow, it's all fun and games for a while, but then it gets old real quick.

I hear that, maybe the day will come when these players really wont need fw updates, but for now I dont see it comming soon.

I don't mind the updates, but waiting months for one to come along (and it's half baked when it does come along) gets old really fast.
