Where do they accept HD DVDs are trade-ins? I might want to do that too.

I was going to buy 9 titles but the shipping was too much like $20 and they state that I would be saving 40% on shipping on orders over $49, mine was $64.

Aren't they giving these damn things away for free yet? I'd rather buy a DVD version for $9 and upscale it than buy a FAKE Hi-Def version of a film for $6.

Well i know my Gamestop i work at does not accept them anymore like they used to thats why we still have a copy of Polar Express on hd-dvd that no one wants but could try Moviestop and i could go to where my brother works (even though its a store that is 1 location only)

i believe the shipping is cost per item so which means if you got like 2 of them and lets just say(pretend) the shipping is $5 then that means it will be $10 for shipping for 2 items

it doesn't matter how much you might hate hd-dvd but for your information it's as much true hi-def as blu-ray.

So you would rather watch upscaled 480i, than 1080p? Take your fanboy goggles off please.

I'd rather wait for the Blu-ray release rather than waste my money on a dead format.

As would I, but the post was for people who still own and want HD DVDS. Has nothing to do with anyone who doesnt.

That is what I meant. If I would have invested in HD DVD when it was an active format I would not buy anything for it now since HD DVD is a dead format. It does not make any sense to me to waste money on new movies for HD DVD knowing that as soon as my player died my disks become coasters. I would simply cut my losses and buy Blu-ray exclusively from now on.

However, I have a good friend who continues to buy new movies at $5 and $10 a piece and I just don’t get it.

well, because most players will last around 5 years or more and there are people like me who have a multiple players so I have at least another 10 years left on these puppies and by that time the double dip will be around and some kewl edition will be out. Shrug, not a loss at all. That's why I still snag them at cheap prices.

Dang it, no Hulk HD-DVD! Does anyone know where I can find a new copy of that one? I haven't seen it announced anywhere for Blu-ray, especially since "apparently everyone" hated the movie.

If blu ray format died tomorrow you'd all be liars if you said you wouldn't buy heavily discounted BD's afterwards. I own 2 Toshiba players, one of which was given to me for free from a good buddy of mine. I bought all of his Hd-Dvd's off of him, 18 in total for a total of $100. That's $6 per movie, which is a pretty damn good deal if you ask me. I can enjoy high definition video and audio until the damn thing croaks on me. I'd say i made out all right..

...Plus i've had Transformers on high def for months!!!
