The Adventures of Robin Hood Blu-ray Review

This is great news that I've been waiting to hear since Warner decided the war.

As I commented on the article, I have been waiting for this as well! I will be buying this on release day. The August/September timeframe is going to be an expensive month to a month and a half with all the much-anticipated Blus coming out...

Me too. I just hope no one will be complaining about the black bars on the sides of the screen.

To be honest those people who do complain need to just go back to a regular television. If they can't comprehend how it works they need to just go back to the basics.

I doubt people that uninformed will be purchasing many films from 1938. Or, at least, that's my hope. As for me, I just want an official date for Casablanca.

What a fantastic week for release announcements; first the Godfather trilogy and now this

Best week of the year so far for Blu-ray!!!
Yes, even including the first week of January (although I do concede that this week's announcements wouldn't have been possible without what happened then)

I'm very uninformed, but I really enjoyed this film when I saw it a few months back so I'll most likely be picking it up as well

Such people would be better off investing in education...then much later on in classic films on BR.

I'm torn on this film.

I've never seen it, but I'm vaguely interested in seeing it. I'm also interested in supporting the WB classics... so they will hurry up and relase "Forbidden Planet" on Blu-ray (which I had on HD DVD). I'll probably wait and pick it up in the 1Q of next year.

I'm kind of surprised that WB didn't release this the same week as "Robin Hood: The Series" (August 5th).

I'm guessing it's just an error that the back of the box says all the special features are in 480 right. Some of the special features (like the cartoons) are being presented in 1080p aren't they?

I'm also a bit curious. Is there a reason that the mono track isn't in lossless? Besides the fact that it's a Warner release that is. Would it make much of a difference on a mono track?

I bumped this title to the top of my rental list, so I will be making up my mind on a purchase very soon.
