I live in Ireland - Blu-ray Forum

and the range of Blu Ray discs here in the shops is very limited as they are on Amazon. Can you tell me if I purchase Blu Ray from here as i see this site is in the states, will I be able to play the blu ray discs on my sony playstation?

amazon.com is the best US site to buy from. Just be sure to check the region code. A good site to do this at is http://bluray.liesinc.net/

I'm do not know what the Region code is in Ireland, (I believe it is region code B, But do not take my word for it) but make sure that when you buy a Blu Ray movie, it has the same region code that you live in (Region Code B) or else it will not play. (Considering you bought the PS3 in Ireland).

according to wikipedia ireland is in region B. you can deside if it is a reliable sorce or not.

I am also in Ireland. Indeed the region code is B. All of Warner Brother titles are region free. All of Fox titles are region locked. But there are some region free and locked titles from Sony, Lionsgate and Disney. At the moment we do not know what Universal and Paramount are going to do but they were region free with HDDVD.

In my experience it all depends where in Ireland your from lol! im in Donegal and the only store that sells blu rays ( a limited selection might i add ) is in xtravision, i was in Dublin just the other day in a HMV store and they had LOADS of blu-rays i couldn't believe it, i was like a kid on Christmas morning! But in general i buy MOST of my blu-rays on amazon.co.uk and i just ordered cloverfield from the US as its a region free disc where if i ordered from UK i would have to wait till September 2nd for it to come out!

Well theres BD's available down in my local GameStop. You might want to take a look at a GameStop if there's one in your area. They also sell them in Roxy Records in my area. In fact, I know a sole trader music store that sells BD's.

Cheers, ill check out gamestop and see if they have more blu-rays than the same ole never changing supply at xtravision, anytime i do buy a blu-ray there the woman at the counter says "you do know this is a blu-ray disc right?" and i feel like saying "you do know the format war is over and its time you start getting more f****g blu-rays in stock?"
