Thumbs up The New B.D. Release "MAD MEN"

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, and i'm sure someone's made a thread about this but i hadn't seen it...

Just wanted to give my thought on MAD MEN...tv series from AMC

I had heard about it when it first started airing ...it interested me, i decided to buy the series on blu.....

I'm 5 episodes through out of 13 and i'm hooked....

Its not for everyone...i'd suggest being around 18 ..probally older to enjoy it....although im 18 myself....

But its great material

First tv series on blu i own

Well, you must be a very smart 18 year old. Many regard "Mad Men" as the best written, acted and produced series currently on television. Though I tried to keep up with it on AMC, I missed a few episodes here and there. I picked up the Blu-ray set and finished viewing it in just 3 days. I can't wait to begin watching season two.

I never watched this show but I've only heard good things so I'm considering buying it on blu. It's actually cheaper ($.04) on blu than standard dvd.

Got Mad Men BD on a blind buy after some of my friends were raving about it. I thought it started quite slow but would admit the writing is incredible (some of the banter and one-liners are priceless). Some the reactions of the characters in this show are so realistic that I actually knew what they were thinking or going to do in certain situations. Not to say that this show is predictable, far from it.

After a couple of episodes, the main characters' flaws, personalities, and secrets start unraveling like layers of an onion. Now I am so hooked that my wife had to restrain ourselves into watching one episode a night.

We have three more episodes left of the Season 1 which is like anticipating an end of a very good movie. It'll be a tough wait for us to see Season 2 as we don't have AMC plus the local tv network here is just going to start showing Season 1.

The PQ of the blu ray is magnificent...even the special features are in HD as well.

BTW, the creators of the show hinted a few days ago that Mad Men is only planned for 5 seasons and will span all the way to the early 70s.

Ordered Mad Men from Amazon US, (My second Blu Ray purchase)

One of my favorites on BBC HD here in the UK, sadly I cant belive its not be released on Blu Ray here in Region B, heulah its region free.

I have already got the Region 1 DVD metal light boxset, but only recently bought a new PC with Blu Ray for HD playback so I thought why not get my favourite show to go with

Still have not actually received a Blu Ray disc to actually experience Blu Ray, come on Play.com with my Stargate Movie!

Cheers
