Access to the media server - Blu-ray Forum

I tried to look at some pictures on my ps3 today from my computer on my tv
It has the name of my file from my computer on my ps3 but when i click it
it says

access to media server is not allowed
it is possible that the name for this ps3 system has not been registerd
check the setting for the media server.

I scanned and it said it found 1 server
but then i clicked on it...same thing popped up...
Any ideas?

Any help appreciated...sorry i havent had my ps3 that long...trying to figure it out...so this might be a dumb question.

Have you given the PS3 permission to access your media server (Windows Media Player 11?) on your PC?

I think so. on my pc theres files in a folder with a name and the same name on my ps3 under photos n all that...but when i click it...it gives me that not allowed...It could be possible that i denied it on my computer by accident maybe after everything...Anyway i can check that? and if thats not the case then what do you think?

Well, since the update (2.41) my PS3 can't seem to be able to find my PC.

I didn't change anything.

i never got it to work with my laptop , however it worked instantly TVersity. I suggest that, it's very simple to use and works wonders

I've used TVersity before but the fastforward and rewind functions are better with WMP11. I just need to figure out why it's not working anymore.

ya, it is rather strange that it's not working anymore after the update. Maybe some of the settings were changed back or maybe networking isn't working. I've had it sometimes where my network didn't work anymore, problem with my router.

Nah, I can sign in and download on the PSN fine. It has to be WMP.
