Default Is this the only PS3 remote for Blu-ray?

I thought there was one that was 14.99, but this is the only one I could find. Anyone know of a cheaper one. I don't care of the quality because i'm buying it so my dad can use it every once in a while to watch blu-ray's when i'm not home.

Default it is the only one.

The PS3 is bluetooth only. No one else makes a remote for it but sony. I have heard of some ppl getting the old remote to work with old PS2 ir adapter. The only issue with that is that the PS3 must be in dvd mode in order for it to work and it will not power on or off the unit or contronl the XMB.

If you look around you can find one for 20 twenty dollars. Check your local EB/Game stop I paid 21 for mine including tax.

This remote is worth the price... I mean the Blu-ray means you don't have to point the remote directly at the unit.

$25 may seem a lot, but it's absolutely worth it. It may be the only one available right now, but it will also be tough to beat quality wise

The remote sucks....some of the buttons don't even register with the console.

I have had this remote for two months and have not had any trouble with it. All the buttons I've used had all synced with my PS3. My only complaint for the remote is that I keep my room really lowly lit so sometimes I can't see what button I'm pressing. Beyond that, it does just what I need it to and has specific buttons for display info and the like. It also keeps you from fumbling around with the PS3 controller.

I like using the controller but I'm starting to watch so many movies that I'm constantly draining the controllers battery by having it sit there while I"m watching movies so I may invest in the remote.

Did you say you can turn the PS3 on and off with the BD remote? Like with the controller.

Holding down the PS button will turn the PS3 on and off

I didn't even notice the remote had a PS button until now. I think I'm now sold on it.

Excellent! I love Costco and their lifetime return policy. Notice that they also have the SIXAXIS for $39.99 -- $10 less than Best Buy.

Has anyone seen these in the store, or is Costco.com our only option here?

Amen. Getting hard to ignore the obvious trend and pattern.

I'm liking the looks of that new Logitech Harmony 1000. I sure wouldn't mind being down to one remote, but man...500 bones!

I couldn't see anything on Logitech's website, have you heard/read anything about it being able to send commands via bluetooth. I would think that they would mention it on their website, but there is so little useful information avaliable from Logitech who knows.

Are there are any addapters (either currenlty available or in the works) that can allow you to use a normal IR remote control with the PS3? (I don't know much about the the PS2 adapter or what it does, is that a possible solution)

Not sure about the Harmony 1000, but I have the Harmony 880 and it cannot work with bluetooth. I use the PS3 controllers...they seem to do everything the remote can do, and the last thing I need is another remote.
