No but seriously whats with all the doom and gloom since the Square Enix FF13 360 announcment.

I'm sorry but it's just pointless. So what they're getting a game that was meant to be exclusive to PS3. So what?!?!

That's just two consoles I won't be buying the game for. Come on now. Microsoft look good after there press conference, but I guarentee it won't last. PS3 will continue to gain the momentum it's had already over the next year and come next E3 we'll all have forgotten this.

Are you seriously telling me that this is worse than them making FF13 a 360 exclusive?

And looking at the 360 exclusive line-up I'm really not impressed. Banjo Kazooie? Seriously? I mean I own both consoles and play both. But my PS3 is most regularly used cause of the free use of the PSN... oh and the fact it is clearly better.

From that i'd say it's doing well among the young demographic which is important

XBOX will continue to do well in America... But internationally... I'm not so sure.

Now i'm not having a go, you can feel free to keep wallowing in disbelief over what I beleive to be a storm in a teacup... or you can wake up, smell the coffee and look around. The PS3 won't suffer for losing one exclusive. I don't believe that it would have shifted that many more units anyhow.

So what say you? there must be someone on here who agrees with me.

Not long til Sony's up so we'll see what happens. After yesterday they'll have regrouped and your faith will be restored I'm sure.

I don't see why everyone is acting like cry baby b!tches about this. It's one game that won't be out until 2010. It's a loss for Sony, but they screwed MS once the same way MS just screwed them.



The PS3 is better in some aspects, but the 360 excels in others. Each console has its advantages and disadvantages over the other. These stupid fanboy wars are getting old.

I'm trying to figure out why theres so many threads about xbox 360 vs. ps3...Does the xbox 360 play blu rays?.....does it play ps3 games??
this is a blu ray website...and theres a options in the forum for ps3 games.
I dont see the option for xbox 360....thats on the hd dvd site..or xbox.com

I come here to read about ps3 news and blu rays....i dont care about what microsoft does...if i did i would go to the proper website.

Guess it must be boring on those sites...seems like all the xbox fans are here complaining and comparing....

I agree this will change nothing I do, as far as gaming goes. Im always going to buy games for PS3, I got rid off my 2 360's a while ago and will never buy 1 back.

You are right in all ways and it is very clear to most that the PS3's _potential_ is far greater based on it's far superior hardware.

But...

That's not the issue here, for me anyway. For me it is about Sony not stepping up and doing whatever it takes to ensure that the best content not only comes to PS3 but is also developed to it's maximum potential on PS3.

There is no excuse for a game to have a 6-8 hour campaign on PS3... ever, for example.

Why haven't we seen many games that pushed the hardware? Why is there nothing? MGS4 was probably the single best example of the capabilities of the hardware, but, frankly, that should have been THE definitive launch title for the PS3 and everything else should have been an improvement from there.

I don't think it's doom and gloom for the PS3 (though I may sound that way in my recent posts), but, I do believe it is very disheartening to see Sony simply letting things go like they have.

I want to have the console from the company that is going to do EVERYTHING in their power to ensure I get the most, best and fully maximized development for my money. I want them to EARN it. Sony isn't earning anything right now. The PSN and XMB are still so far behind XboxLive it's sad regardless of recent updates (and, yes, I know it's free, but that isn't an excuse for mediocrity... charge for it if they must to make it good).

Why isn't Sony doing anything to give me, their customer, what I want from a console? In particular, on the gaming side as I will freely admit they have exceeded my expectations in every way on the BD and media sides.

So, yes, I believe strongly the PS3 is going to trump the 360 in the long haul. Probably within the next year actually. But, I am very upset and disheartened to see Microsoft, a company notorious for screwing customers, stepping up and making the moves it takes to ensure their customers are getting the maximum value from their console while Sony sits on it's hands talking about the same few (and there are few) games for the last three years or more at E3's. I mean, some of the titles they are STILL talking about this year I first saw in -> 2005 <-. It's vaporware at this point. They are using titles and ips that simply do not exist! Sony needs to talk about DELIVERABLES and games that will actually be coming out (and they need to be AAA and actually good) before the next big gaming conference... not before the next 25 gaming conferences. I'm so sick of hearing about Killzone 2, for example. Is it ever coming out? Or, will it be postponed yet again for more 'marketing reasons'. It's just another FPS for f**ksake! It's not even anything special save for it's graphics/physics.

Meh... I think you get the point. That is why I am unhappy with my PS3 right now. Sony just seems to ALWAYS drop the ball right when they are about to score big. Then, I see a game funk like right now where there are literally no good games coming out until October after SCIV. That is very sad. I should be able to find a good game each week or two.

I'm not so much annoyed over the FF13 announcement as I am over all the timed exclusives and exclusive content perks that 360 seems to constantly get over the PS3. THAT is the one thing I wish Sony would step up and put a stop to.

And why would anyone invest in all those blu rays...when the machine breaks down just from playing games...yes you can get the box mailed to you in a week...mail it back....then 3 or 4 weeks later you get a refurbished product..unless you pay the 60 dollars for a product replacement plan at best buy....but who really wants to jump thru those hoops? You can buy a ps3..have blu ray built in...and be pretty much set...

The newer 360's don't die NEARLY as much as the old ones do.

IF MS released a BD drive for 360 do you realize how much that would boost the format? There would be about 5 million people buy it within a month after launch. If more people get BD players, the studios willl be pressured to release more titles. Think about it.

lets see a JRPG (that stands for Japanese Role Playing Game) is PS3 exclusive in Japan (hmmm...could this be the market where it will do its best, possibly given the fact that it is a JAPANESE rpg).

Now, we go all crazy because a JRPG will be multi-plat in the WEST.

I know many of the Final Fantasy fanboys will scream at me for this. But...FINAL FANTASY XIII EXCLUSIVITY IN THE WEST WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THAT BIG OF A DEAL!!! ITS NOT AS POPULAR OVER HERE AS YOU PEOPLE ARE MAKING IT OUT TO BE!!!

Plus, it has been confirmed by our trusty insiders, that the game will still be optimized for PS3 and no short cuts are to be taken.

So who cares if its coming to the 360 over here.

i really dont mind if a third-party is multi plat. as a matter a fact they could all be multi-plat for that matter. i just think they shouldn't put out the same game as multi-plat. they should make a different game for each console. Of course there would be some exceptions(ex. Madden and such).

America is the only market MS really care about, it's their backyard and they don't want to lose out to Sony. I haven't seen global sales in a while but as far as I know Wii dominates everywhere, then it's Sony for Japan, Europe and Oz and 360 for America?

Seriously, why all the PS3 vs. XBox 360 stuff. They're both great consoles, but to say that you're not impressed by the 360 lineup is ridiculous. Can you say Halo 3, Ninja Gaiden 2, Too Human, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead? And not to mention the game that's gonna really bring the house down.... GEARS OF WAR 2. Now I'm not a fanboy, but if your not impressed with that lineup, then what impresses you? I Know that the PS3 has a lot of potential, which is why I bought one, but outside of Metal Gear and Resistance, there really aren't any console sellers. Most people buy PS3's for Blu Rays and 360's for gaming.

As far as Final Fantasy goes, that just means that more people will buy it and get to have a great experience. If Sony wanted it to be exclusive, then they should've taken the proper steps.

perhaps it is a great post, however, with MS keep throwing money around and buying up old supporting 3rd party developers for Sony's system, the true potential of PS3 will never reach its peak.

Those saying to ignore MS and not care is just refusing to face reality. Sony needs to fight evil with evil, they need to start to pay for certain 3rd party exclusives. Sure, they have great first party, but those are not console defining IPs. God of War comes close, but still not on the same calibre as FF series.

My friends also have both systems and the PS3 is their main Blu Ray player. We usually play online with Xbox Live because it's a better experience for us.
