Nope, what did they do to your account?

It's most likely for support of in-game advertising.

Most likely when you view an ad in a game while connected your info will automatically be sent to that advertiser for use in their marketing and promotion.

They probably revised the terms in this way because of the whole Bad Company/EA thing on that 'video' on the PSN. In case you didn't notice, if you downloaded the Bad Company videos of gameplay off the PSN you somehow magically found your email automatically signed up to EA's spam service which hits you with EA announcements (starting with thank you for registering no less!). The announcements do seem to have tapered off; however, I'm pretty freakin' pissed personally that I even had to have this spam in my email box without me ever signing up for anything just because I tried to watch a gameplay trailer from PSN (noting that there was no way to unsubscribe/signup either!).

So, yeah, that's my guess anyway. Sony wants to be able to sell your data.
