Cool Disney's The Black Hole on blu-ray?

Though I really wanted to see it, I missed it in the theater as a kid.

I recall seeing it at least once on TV and it was impressive visually, and rather fun to watch.

Any word on a release? Who wants it? Please vote on the poll!

Opps, my bad.

Amazon has the DVD. http://www.amazon.com/Black-Hole-Ern...6323535&sr=8-1

Ya know, this one is making me rethink my policy of "blu-ray or nothing". It could become the last DVD I buy.

Isn't there something in the blu-blood credo about that? I think it requires a ritual shaving of your left leg if you do buy a DVD - these are just rumors I've heard though. Being forced to eat an entire watermelon, perhaps?

Holy crap, you're right. There is shaving involved but it has nothing to do with a leg.

I rather like watermelon so that is no biggie.

Fact: Horseshoe crabs have blu-blood!

Haha, there, there, Ooks - I've already called him out for that. He's being forced to watch "Mannequin" as a punishment. That'll teach him better,

And I forgot to mention, I'd love to see Tron on BR before Black Hole, though.

I can't wait to see how the 'grain haters' react to this title.

The original release prints had so much grain that it looked like it was shot and comped on Super 8. This was largely due to the optical process work that was employed by Disney at the time.

I haven't watched the DVD for quite some time to check the picture quality, but I clearly remember the theatrical release, and it looked like you were watching the film through a plate of ground glass. (you didn't want to sit too close to the screen).

We'll see how this translates to Blu-ray when it's time comes, as I am wholeheartedly against the use of excessive DNR in order to remove any perceived film grain in the picture - even this one.

in some people's cases it does have to do with a leg. a third leg perhaps, but still a leg.

I've owned both DVD releases(currently have the 2004 Disney release),and I would love to see this on blu.
The featurette on the DVD is very good, but I'd love to see some more bonus material if this comes to blu.

I just watched the trailer.

That's it, I have to get the DVD. Crap, I hate to do it but I can't wait forever for Disney to unvault this one for blu-ray. They need to release it while people are still alive who remember it!

I generally liked the movie, since I saw it for the first time last month, but the ending - ugh... talk about heavy handed and out there....
