Thumbs up Who else could play The Joker in Batman movies?

I will not see the movie until this weekend. I have no idea what happens to the Joker. Don't tell me anything.

Sure Jack Nicholson played a great Joker. But he also played him a little fruity in keeping some loose ties to the kid-friendly concepts of Batman cartoons. I doubt he would even want to reprise the role. Further more, I doubt the fans want him back!

In just seeing the clips it is obvious Heath Ledger has made cinimatic history. I doubt anyone could fill his shoes. So why bother? To give us something to talk about.

Some Nominations:

* William Dafoe (Made a great Green Goblin, and has the face for a great Joker in my opinion.)

* William H. Macy. I also think he as the face for it. Dunno about acting skills.

* John Travolta. Has the face. Great acting ability, even though not all his films are great.

* Tom Hanks. 'Nuff said. "Wilson! The Bat is back!"

* Unknown. You know what sometimes makes great movies more believable? The fact that "unknowns" play the part.

Suggestions? Rants? Please, no inbred fighting.

Do the fans even WANT to fill Heath Ledger's big floppy Joker shoes?

William H. Macy is one of the best actors around, I just don't see him as the Joker. He usually plays much more serious roles. But then again, before seeing The Dark Knight I couldn't see Heath Ledger as the Joker and we all know how that turned out

All those actors you said were too old to play Joker, Ledger's replacement will be around the same age because it would be weird if they have someone who is 28 and then cast someone who is 50

I'd say if Heath Ledger hadn't died they could've easily implemented Joker into the 3rd movie, but now I say don't touch it.

The worst thing I hate is a movie that implements the same character as in the last, but with a new actor/actress. Let Heath Ledger and his role as the last Joker rest in peace.

I think the best person for the job would be Hayden Christiansen....

OK, bad joke. Seriously though, Jude Law might actually be able to pull that off.

i dont want ne1 to replace the joker in the next movie
but if it has to be then
Johnny Depp
and no not DDL cause he looks too old for the part although he's a good actor
Guy Pearce would be a good choice but dont know how that'll turn out to be

It's sad, but I think the joker is going to have to be left alone for a long time. I really don't see anyone that could match Ledger's performance in the Dark Knight. It would be nice to see some consistency in Batman films, keep the same actors playing the same characters for as long as you can. If not, give Chris O'donnell and Alicia Silverstone a call. I don't think they have much going on.

I could actually see him doing a good job. He could either mimic Ledgers performance or make it his own. He has a lot of potential but seems to be in a rut as far as rolls go. It would need to be someone who has the ability to blend into a character and doesn't play himself in every roll. Day Lewis would be great if he weren't so old. He could still pull off a great Joker.
