Default New RFID Technology Could Once And For All Eliminate Theft … and Better Yet, Blister

This RFID technology can work with any optical disc format. CD, DVD, and BLU-RAY. The article talks about DVD since it is the most common right now. Future optical music and movies might have to be activated before you can use it. This technology if it works correctly will take seconds to activate your disc at the point of sale. Customers will not even know they have a RFID tag in the optical disc. Also in theory you can purchase a RFID reader and instantly do an inventory of all the movies you own, some one passing by your home might be able to do the same thing. Some people are demanding that retail stores disable RFID tags at the point of sale on clothing and other products to protect peoples privacy. When RFID replaces bar code on every product someone with a RFID reader could see everything that you own in your house with serial number if retail stores don’t disable the RFID tag at the point of sale.
