it could be that, but what about prison break, season 1 was region locked and now its region free. fox may have had a change in direction where catalogue titles are being released region free but new releases are locked,

they could of reached a conclusion that they are missing out on alot of money on titles that a distributed by other companies in europe, for example cast away is distributed by dreamworks in the uk, if it was released region free in the states i would have imported it, as i have with more than 1/3 of my blu rays, look at sweeney todd and beowulf they have been out in the uk for a few months now and not out in the USA yet, therefore paramount will be losing money to warner from people who have imported it from europe.

movietyme specializes in "US imports" for the Brits or other people in Europe (like me in Germany). So it's the US release in Pound Sterling for the UK people, who like to get the Region A releases.

If i were you i will wait until more lists Prison break as region free. Movietyme has been wrong with a release before where people bought it but it was locked. i think it was a sony release.

Could just be television titles. Doesn't make sense to code something shown for free in some part of the world.

Many of the region locked sony titles are due to the fact that eg: "I know who killed me" & "The Other Boleyn Girl" are both Sony in the states but I Know is distributed by Icon and The Other Boleyn is distributed by Universal, so they obviously don't want people buying the blu-rays from another distributor.

Someone, somewhere (sorry for the original poster, but I've forgetton where I saw it) said that after Stargate: Continuum was confirmed region free his Fox inside sources said that this was no way an indication for future movie releases and that they would remain region locked. But that this was something they were doing with some of their TV properties.

It's strange considering Prison Break season one was not region free. I wonder what goes inside those Fox execs when they decide that kind of stuff. you might think it's to sell more of those American Blurays but if so, they would advertise their stuff as being region free and they don't
