PS3 wont start. - Blu-ray Forum

My cousins ps3 wont start. He was play duty 4 and all of a sudden it made a weird sound and then it shut down all by itself. It still turns on, what i mean by this is the the light still turns red when you turn the switch on the back. but when i press the power button in front it lights up to green makes the beep sound twice and turns into a blinking red. what happend?

Blinking red is an overheat problem I think. Either the fan on the PS3 died or something else is wrong.

thats what i was thinking too. fan or overheat. if the ps3 is dead then shouldnt it be not turning on at all?

same thing happened to my ps3 when i downloaded 2.40 update and that PS3 is a goner just have to call Sony
