So I got this idea after (finally) learning what the little ferrite bands that come with some devices (and on USB cables) actually do. Basically since they act as a filter for interference and whatnot, i was thinking they could be used on speaker wire too (I have a couple lying around so theres no cost in trying, just wondering if it would harm or help anything) Does anyone have these on speaker wire or know the effects if any? Thanks

Installing the ferrite beads on speaker cables won’t hurt anything (unless you get so much interference that the filters heat up and melt the cables – unlikely), but probably won’t help anything either; they won’t eliminate any hissing, as that happens at much lower frequencies than many of these filters work.
