Default DTS-HD/Dolby-HD

I was watching Rush Hour 3 today and I noticed that the only audio option was DTS-HD 7.1. Well I dont have a receiver for HD audio formats but more to the point it wouldnt even play in regular 5.1. Now maybe I answered my own question but do I have to have a DTS/Dolby HD Receiver to listen to Rush Hour 3 in Digital surround sound? Is there no way to listen to it in regular DTS 5.1?
My Blu player is a PS3.

Even without a receiver, you can still hear the difference between the standard Dolby Digital and the advanced audio soundtracks (True HD, Master Audio, etc.).
