Default Biggest (most impressive) difference between DVD and Blu-ray - Which Movie?

Ok, here's a question...

Let's say you have the same movie in both formats. You put in the DVD and watch it, then you put in the Blu-ray and watch it. (repeat for every film you have ever seen in both formats).

Which film is the improvement MOST impressive? Which is most improved by the transfer to Blu-Ray in your opinion?

BTW this assumes you have watched the DVD up-converted on your blu-ray player.

Anyone care to comment? Which difference most blew you away?

No way I have enough time to follow those instructions.

And what's the point in comparing Blu-ray to upconverted DVD? Shouldn't you compare a non-upconverted DVD to Blu-ray?

I agree, and in that scenario I would say that I saw a huge difference when I watched The Mummy on standard and then watched the blu-ray version.

for video... The Life of Brian. it's amazing what a difference the blu-ray is from the DVD (upconverted or otherwise). So much more detail is evident...

For Audio... there are so many to choose from!

I'll add my 2 cents and say because many people probably watched the upscaled DVD DVD then bought the BD

What they said. I'm still blown away by the detail and smoothness of the BD over the DVD. Makes one of my favorite movies into one of my mostest favoritest movies on Blu!!!

(Blade Runner, for those who lost track.) I got both DVD versions, and each time was disappointed (especially the first one, never even made it through one watch it was so bad), knowing it just wasn't all there. The second DVD I at least made it through, but I just knew hi-def was waiting in the wings and could tell it could be a lot better. [Saw the different versions of the film at various theaters over the years, even a showing of the workprint.]

Then along came Blu-Ray to save the day.

Same here for LIFE OF BRIAN. I was also really impressed with BONNIE AND CLYDE. It had been about ten years since I saw it on VHS, but the PQ on the Bolu-Ray looks incredible. 40 year old movie, and it hasn't aged a day.

Mine is Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix..My girlfriend has the DVD version and I thought it looked good but a little too blurry.. I liked the movie so I bought the Blu version and and was blown away..The PQ is great and the sound is also an impressive upgrade from the DVD
