He said that ultimately, the success or failure of a new format depends on the support of the porn industry (as with dvd and vhs)... last I heard, porn studios were on the blu-ray team.

I saw this movie with my bestest movie going buddy in the world. We usually like the same types of movies, music, books, etc. I'm always hyping bluray and talking on and on about it. He notices the difference, but at this point he's not willing to fork out any money on the upgrades. He told me after the movie, "That's what you sound like when you talk bluray. I just tune you out like Robert Downey Jr. was tuning out that kid."

And because Hollywood is two to three years behind the rest of the real technological world (and Ben Still parodies, another few years on top of that) the "new hip" discussion of that Blu-ray thing in the script is still at the stages of
1) "Whichever one has porn is gonna make millions!", and
2) "Only tech-geeks can understand what it's about!"

...That's about what we'll get in Blu-ray jokes through at least the end of '09, I'm estimating.
We're a still a few more years away from movies realizing no one AOL-chats on the Internet anymore.
