Question Doubt

Thanks for your answer but my doubt is:

I have old dvd movies that I´d want to see them in the bpd 9000 and they belong to the region 4(Brazil), so I need to know if there is a maner to free all regions.

Thank you in advance for your attention.

Currently you cannot unlock your player so that it plays non-R1 standard def NTSC material. If the NTSC SDVD is region-free it would play just fine.

Hi there I bought a few dvds that were region 4 & they played fine in my dvd/blu-ray player in America.

*I read that Region 4 was the same as Region 1 in America before I bought a few movies*

Brazil is Region 4 but it's also NTSC as opposed to most other countries that are PAL. That may be where you're getting confused.

As far as I know Brazil is not an NTSC country, broadcasts are on PAL-M, which is a 525/60 Hz PAL encoded system.

Incorrect. Their DVD's are most certainly NTSC.

They are stated as NTSC to make things easier to the average consumer, but they are not really. NTSC or Pal are systems to encode color used on composite or Super-Video signals, since video is encoded to DVD on component video signal, no NTSC or Pal encoding is actually used. DVD should be refered as either 480i or 576i.

A quick way to do something right now, is to buy DVD-R DL and 'Backup' you're favorite DVD by removing the Zone from it. Those DVD cost about 1$ each so if you don't have 100 favorite DVD movie it shouldn't cost you a lot

Uhhh...ok. They're 480i. It's the same thing. I've bought a ton of DVD's from Brazil. ALL are NTSC.
