are there any animal movies (documentations) in high definition quality on dvd or blue ray?

the dvd or blue ray must be accessible in germany.

Check out "Relentless Enemies" by National Geographic on Blu-ray. Highly recommended as you follow some lions chasing their prey in Africa.

'March Of The Penguins' is quite a poor visual experience for a Blu-ray. I highly suggest 'Galapagos' first and foremost! Then, I would recommend 'Planet Earth.' Other than that, I can't really offer an opinion on what else is out there.

Indeed, as mentioned above:-

Galapagos (BBC)
Wild China (BBC)
Ganges (BBC, Due shortly)
Earth, Power of the Planet (BBC, due shortly)... UK name given here, USA uses different title.

For something a little more out of this world:-

Kaguya Space Probe (Catalog No.PCXE-50001)... HDTV footage from a Japanese Space Probe. Mesmerizing, especially the Earth-rise and Earth-set scenes. Some list it as region A, but it plays on my Region B BDP-S500

If you like dogs, then "Eight Below" will have you gushing

Ihr Englisch ist ganz gut. Keine Sorgen. Es tut mir Leid, wann mein Deutsch schlimm ist! Ich lerne Deutsch seit neun Monaten.

Natürlich hat es viele Dokumentarfilme über Tiere auf Blu Ray. Sie werden in Deutschland verfkauft:

Planet Erde (BBC)
Galapagos (BBC)
Unterwegs mit dem Blauwal (Jeff Corwin Discovery)
