I am wondering if there's a store B&M or online that seems to break street dates more than most? I seem to remember a certain one in the left ocean that frequently used to ship movies up to two weeks early? Not sure if they still do. I'm really wanting to pre-order a certain movie about a Jade Giant and try and get it as early as possible.

Wal Mart used to do it pretty regularly, but since they've redone their Blu-ray section I haven't seen them break street date in quite some time. I got Transformers a week early from Tower, as did a lot of people. It's rare that a day and date title gets put out early, at least in my experience. Usually it's catalog stuff.

Well I've found that Blockbuster breaks it all the time, plus they're prices are actually pretty good. I don't remember the last time I had to wait for the actual release date to get a new release. Wal-mart will usually get the new releases a month after it's been released.

Walmart used to break street date all the time. The don't really break street date anymore, but they still do stupid things like have sealed cases of movies on a pallate with the current week's releases. If you are sneaky enough and there aren't too many people around, you can usually get a case off the pallete, opened and grab a copy and double time it to a front check out.

![]() Yes, they still ship movies out early although sometimes it depends on the studio. Sony, Disney, and Lionsgate ship the earliest at 2 weeks. Paramount and Warner won't ship until release date. I think Universal shipped about a week early, but I don't remember all too well. |

I received both Rudy and Jerry Maguire from Sony and Forbidden Kingdom from Lionsgate two weeks early and Transformers one week early just recently. On the other hand, Kill Bill 1&2 from Miramax didn't ship until the friday before release date.

Warner's online store seems to be the most frequent early shipper. Some people have gotten releases a month in advance before. This is hit or miss though as Warner ships directly from their distributor so certain titles can actually show up after release date. Amazon never ships early from what I can tell. Family video has shipped things to me a little ahead of street date by a day or two.
If you happen to live in New York city lots of brick and mortar stores break street date on items like BDs. |
