Does anyone know if Warner will release casablanca on blu-ray as well as hd dvd?

They have said that they will release all the films on BD that they have already released on HD DVD. I think some of them might be in limbo due to BD-J not being ready until now?

In the case of "Casablanca", I believe it's mainly that Warner wanted to wait until BD50 production output was very, very large. All of their "catch-up" titles this year have been BD50s.

Poor sales on HD DVD may be another reason why some of these aren't on BD yet.

but hd dvd never really got off t ground at all wi only 20 percent of hd sales every month

You're looking in the too near past, not when these discs were released. Even at the typical 2-1 ratio, they sold way way under what they needed to

It will be released just a matter of time same for FORBIDDEN PLANET... I think this whole last of the year will be overflowing and they probably don't have enough plants to make the discs they need.

What about Grand Prix & Mutiny On The Bounty?? they look amazing on hd-dvd. Would be willing to upgrade to Blu

I don't have Casablanca, but Mutiny On The Bounty is one of my 'demo disks' and it looks absolutely as good as it could possibly ever look in 1080p.
(Movie is good but not quite a classic, in my opinion. But the transfer is exceptional)
