Problems with my Samsung BD-P1400!!! PLEASE HELP!!! - Blu-ray Forum

Hi! I´m kind of desperate!

I just bought the Cloverfield Blu Ray and it doesn´t play on my player. I suppose it needs a Firmware Update, but don´t know how to do it! I downloaded the V1.9 and decompressed it but at the moment I really don´t know how to copy it into disc as the manual only indicates the way of doing it through the Nero Burning ROM!!! I have the Nero Start Smart but don´t know if it contains the Nero Burning ROM as I have looked for it in the Applications section and doesn´t appear at all! I´m new at this, so I would appreciate if someone could be kind enough to teach me, step by step the way of doing it! I´m dying here! And hoping to watch my Cloverfield BD!!!

contact samsung to get firmware cd thats what i did

You should be able to right click on the file and select burn to disk. If you have to go through the disc burning software make sure that you select burn image or .iso otherwise the player won't recognize the file.

Yeah, what kpKelley said. It really is easy to burn it to disk, however, if you don't have a burn program then I would do exactly what john_1958 said, and that would be to call Samsung and they will mail you the FW update disk for free. That's how I got all my updates when I had my 1400 and it worked fine. You just have to wait about a week to get it.

I just updated the firmware on my BD-P1400 to version 1.9 and my player has effectively become a rather expensive doorstop.

The update was installed sucessfully (so the process told me), but now BR discs will hang, freeze or skip, or will not even load at all. SD discs still work fine.

Anyone else experience this?
