Default Empire's The 500 Greatest Movies of All Time List

I disagree with a good portion of some of the choices thus far (more so with their placement within the rankings) but that is to be expected as everyone has their own just-as-valid opinion on what makes for a "great" or "classic" film.

Still, a few of the choices being included on the list at all are mind-boggling to me...

horrible, horrible list so far.

so many things i disagree with, but the biggest slap in the face is in the opening 10.

Ben Hur is some how all the way down to 491st?

Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest made the list. Empire knows that there are more than 500 films right?

phantom menace is supposedly better than Breakfast at Tiffany's, Ben Hur, Crash, Juno and a couple of other classics, what a crock of crap.

i will give them one thing.

unless they truly, truly hate Attack of the Clones, it looks as if they will rate AotC as the best of the prequels....which it is.

Hopefully, they will put Empire in front of ANH, but very few movie countdowns have had the guts to do what is really right

Monsters Inc is WAY above Finding Nemo. LOL seriously? I can appreciate the work put into it here but you have to do some post common sense cleanup of a list this big.

If y'all are looking for the best of the "Greatest films of all time lists," try www.theyshootpictures.com. They put their list together based on all the other lists. Take a look. You'll see what I'm talking about.

a little heavy on older films, but it appears to be a much better list than Empires.

Wow. That 21 Century's most acclaimed films is phenomenal (although I've seen just 71 of their top 100).

while there is a lot wrong with this list i have to give props to Empire for correctly getting the Indiana Jones films in the correct order.

4. Crystal Skull
3. Last Crusade
2. Temple of Doom
1. Raiders.

Yes, that is the correct order.

I am suprised that somebody at Empire thinks that School of Rock is a better movie than Ben-Hur

and anchorman is easily like the 111th best movie ever made.

seriously, why did SoR and Anchorman get ranked so high, while many, many oscar worthy and award winning movies were pushed under them.

now i know the academy bypasses the comedies and superhero/action movies, but anchorman and SoR aren't even that great of comedies. They're funny, but certainly not that funny.

Those 'older films' are called 'classics' for a reason.

In your opinion.

Last Crusade should be 2 and Raiders should be one. Crystal Skull shouldn't even be on the same list.
