Default Problem with Firefox/Youtube

I've been having an issue with playing youtube videos for awhile now.

It'll be working fine and then sometime I'll click on a youtube video (or any embedded video such as Dailymotion, vimeo or whateveR) and it'll load up and it'll get to 0:02 seconds and then just stop. There's no sound when it does that even if there is sound in the first two seconds.

This has happened in both Firefox AND Internet Explorer. And it happened both before and after upgrading to Firefox 3. The firefox is fully updated.

This is driving me crazy. My computer is updated, no spyware/viruses that I'm aware of. I'm using Windows XP SP3. Protected by Spware Doctor with Antivirus.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Usually I have to restart my browser two or three times before it'll play. And just rebooting doesn't always do it either.
