The one in HITMAN gives an expiration date, so I would guess that they would. Anyone else?

The codes do expire. Best thing to do is once you have it in itunes drag it into a folder. It will be converted into a mp4 at that point. Then you can put it wherever you want.

you can only download once from I-tunes. If you try it again it will tell you to make copies.

I know this thread is quite old but after scouring the intertubes I have discovered that sometime you can trick the Digital Copy disc by changing the date on your computer. I just tried this with my expired Despicable Me code and it worked! Some people have noted that this does not work every time but it is worth a try

What's even stranger is that some digital copies don't expire even though the respective studio says they will on date X.

Silly question: the expiration refers to when it can be downloaded or to when it will stop working? Or both?

Downloaded (i.e., redeemed). If you redeem it before the expiration, you can use it indefinitely (presumably).

Yep, they don't expire once downloaded (at least not those downloaded into iTunes, most peoples preferred method).

It always seemed studios would give you 1 year from release date to download them. Fox started having most (all?) of theirs have 2-year windows. Some studios will only give you 6 months or less on select titles. I keep a master list word document of the movie and when the DC is set to expire. I have to check my recent purchases and update my list.

Those I have which expire this month or soon:

DUE DATE (WB) 2/20 (was released a year ago)
BRIDESMAIDS (UNIVERSAL) 2/25 (was released in September)
HANNA (UNIVERSAL) 2/25 (was released in September)
THE NEXT 3 DAYS (LIONSGATE) 3/8 (was released a year ago)
HEREAFTER (WB) 3/15 (was released a year ago)
THE FIGHTER (PARAMOUNT) 3/15 (was released a year ago)
CRAZY HEART (FOX) 4/19 (was released 2 years ago)
THE CHANGE-UP (UNIVERSAL) 4/26 (was released 11/8/11)

It blows that they expire at all. 6 months is ridiculous too.

Does anybody know if Sony are nazis when it comes to expiration dates? I know WB and Universal are. I don't think I've ever been able to download any of theirs after the expiration date. I know I had luck with Juno (way after expiration date). That was a Fox release. I've had luck with few other studios lately too. I'll have to put together a list.

Wondering about Sony, as I just bought a new title not realizing that the DC expired last March. I could now buy it used for $6 less. If they hold you to expiration date, used would make more sense.

Anybody know?

And kudos to (some) studios changing how they list expiration dates. Like with these new Universal releases (many of which were $5 after coupon at BB last month)...

STATE OF PLAY
MAMMA MIA
KNOCKED UP
40-YR-OLD VIRGIN
SARAH MARSHALL
IN BRUGES
...etc...

It'll list the DC expiration date in bold on the front and/or the back. Too many times in the past you'd have to practically get out a magnifying glass to read the exp date.

Some Disney titles and Fox titles will read something like, "Activation code for digital copy download subject to expiration date" or something like that. I know these don't have clear exp dates on them:

LOVE & OTHER DRUGS
127 HOURS
LIMITLESS
CEDAR RAPIDS
TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT
THE LION KING
THE INCREDIBLES
