Some of us go to big box stores and buy speaker, some buy online, some go to audio salons. My question is this, do we make unfair jugdgements about speakers based on a demo in a store? I have come to learn that the only fair assetment is to demo a speaker in your own home, that has had proper break-in time. I'm also coming to the conclusion that not only do audio salons have better gear, but they have better practices. We would break our speakers in before going to the floor. You go to a big box dealer - they take them out the box and straigt to the floor. So you get a bad representation of what the speaker is capable of. The only perfect audition scenrio is the one that takes place in your home (the advantage of 30 day trial programs). What do you think, and have you ever made a bad assestment of a good speaker based on what you heard in a store?
