Default flat screen question

can anyone make out a significant difference in PQ on a 42" 720P vs 1080P, im in the market for one and i was wondering because the 720P's are cheaper.

It depends on how far you sit away from your tv. Do a search and you'll find plenty of info on this forum

720P televisions are generally 1366x768 resolution (1,049,088 pixels) while 1080P televisions are 1920x1080 (2,073,600), so a 1080P television will give you roughly twice the resolution. If you're going to sit far away, you won't see a huge difference, though. It also depends on your signal; if you're playing a bluray at 1080P, you'll see, in my opinion, a very noticeable difference. In other signals, such as hd satellite and cable, you won't notice much apart from slightly greater detail and colors.
