Default Tim Burton might direct Pirates 4?

It hasn't been 100% confirmed yet but apparently some people in the business have heard rumors of this happening.

I doubt it.... didn't Gore Verbinski do all three of the first ones? If so, I can't imagine that Disney would bail on him now.

I like rather dark movies (Burton's speciality). Lets just hope that he'll improve the franchise, but does the public need another Pirates movie? The movies I find are just boring.

+ 2. Plus I'm sure Disney will do whatever it takes to get Gore as he directed the first 3.

I'm not sure Gore wants to come back. Having Burton direct the film, though, would help lure Depp back to the role, and the change in sensibilities behind the camera might be enough to lure audiences who are "Sparrowed-out" after the last two films. New creative blood might help...then again, story was never Burton's strong point, so it could also hurt.

It's already been confirmed that Depp is coming back.

Depp doesn't need any luring. He signed a contract and its official.

I totally agree. I haven't liked a Tim Burton film since Mars Attacks, almost everything he has directed since then has been unoriginal and has pretty much sucked. He just wants some of that $64 million that JD the DB is going to get.

at least maybe the movies wouldn't be one hour too long if burton was behind the camera.

for the record, loved the first one, thought the 2nd and 3rd were incredibly fun but overly long. plus, while i do like gore as a director, if they are going in a new direction with pirates 4 it might help to have a new director. but tim burton? ehhhhhhhh

i second the previous opininons about no burton. but that's because he's a joke and i can't stand his movies, with the exception of big fish.

on the other hand, it's not like after the sequels the franchise can get any worse.

Jack Sparrow's father is the COMPLETE freak. Jack is the mere freak.

Pirates 4: The search for more dablumes

Too many people are already disgusted with the 3rd movie, stop trying to jump the shark. We already have Superman IV: The quest for peace. Haven't we learned from that?

(May Christopher Reeve and wife RIP.)
