Default More bad luck for me.....

Well.... I put out two movies (Netflix) for the mail-person to pick up on Friday Morning....... Here's what happened since Friday Morning......

1) I watched the mail-person walk up my steps, and an hour later or so, I looked and saw they LEFT THE FREAKIN' NETFLIX MOVIES HANGING OUT OF MY MAIL-SLOT ON THE HOUSE, and just dropped my mail on the ground.... GEEZ, THANKS!

2) I, being dumb and angry, decided to just leave the Netflix movies hanging out there so those idiots (I have a bad track record with my mail carriers) would take it Saturday afternoon, if they were so kind to do so!!!

3) Mail hadn't arrived, and I left early in the afternoon for pictures etc, and went to a Wedding......

4) I got back from the wedding LATE....

5) Was woken up by my wife EARLY on Sunday morning with her asking me what happened in our dining room.......

6) I get up..... against my will, with a decent hangover, and find in addition to multiple other things, someone cut the screen door on the back of our house, and broke a pane of glass in the door trying to break into our house (later found out they did this during the time-period we were at the wedding)

7) I check Netflix, and it is way behind..... behind in the fact that they say they are shipping a movie I had received and shipped back PRIOR to the two movies currently in question........

8) now netflix is up-to-date, and they say Starship Troopers (one of the missing movies) is "expected to arrive" 10/03 which was actually Friday, the day I attempted to send it back (got it Thursday and watched it that night)

Is it possible the person who broke into my house took the two movies??? Of course..... it'd be a crazy coincidence to lose two movies that were shipping out otherwise, but my incompetent mail-people just piss me off to no end

Anyone know how netflix will handle this, since I lost TWO movies !!!!!!! I sent a notice saying I shipped the movies back, and they didn't receive them..... what do they do about that?????????

If I have to pay for them, how much are they? One was a blu-ray, one was a standard DVD.....

thanks.

ending my rant!

I don't suppose they can PROVE you didn't mail them off. I'm sure they've had discs get lost in the mail.

If you don't receive discs you just hit them up and they'll send you another copy, I believe.

Just say you shipped them off, hope they don't read this forum, and you're straight.

Netflix is very forgiving. They may not even charge you for them, especially if you have a good track record.

The mail in Ohio, on the other hand, is horrible. I've had nothing but trouble and I'm not usually a complainer, but have placed multiple calls to my local post office to squawk about service.

I have a year's worth of trouble-free past with Netflix, even ordered two full years worth of subscriptions for people as gifts, so hopefully they trust me

You should be fine. I had one not arrive and they were cool about it. Just in case from then on I took them to a drop box or the post office.

I've been in Toledo for almost a year and it's borderline sickening how bad the Mail service is here.

There's days where I don't think the mail even got here, despite my seeing mail trucks out and about.

I can't wait to move after the New Year back to Spokane Washington

That sounds awfully suspicious, like someone had inside knowledge that you and your family would be gone all day to a wedding. Great opportunity for a thief. You should probably go through your head the list of people who might have heard you had a wedding to attend.

Good luck on the Netflix situation.

I don't have "friends" who would do this.... I keep pretty good company....

Also, I didn't really tell many people about the wedding since it was a relative on the wife's side.....

This is when investing in a couple bull mastiffs is a good thing. Nice back yard dogs, and great to scare people when they look at them eye to eye.

Hey,

Sorry to hear that. (The netflix part is a non-issue,... they will investigate if more movies are lost in your area. I prefer to drop mine at a post office but you should be able to just put them in your mailbox with no trouble.) I hate to hear about your craptastic mailman and the fact that someone chose to violate you pretty home. Really affects you feelings of the place,... at least for a while.

I keep telling the wife we need a dog.... I just want a Vizsla (they bark, that's all you really need) but she's against it because of the cost and effort associated with them

I'm anti-dog too (I'm just burnt out on pets these days.),... I think my wife and kidz want to get a dog though.

I'm glad it's not the "new" place.
