Default Movies that get you emotionally involved.

What movies get you emotionally involved. Not just love, but those you hate also. Movies that get you going or make your blood boil.

Ex. Crash. I love this film while many people I know hate it and will defend why.

For me:

The Mist - I can't remember a horror film dividing alot of people like this one has. Maybe The Blair Witch Project but this seems to divide alot of people on the ending. I for one loved it and I don't see this movie as a horror film but as an experiment in what would happen when a small group of people are pushed to their extremes. That crazy lady gets me very very angry. I loved the ending.

The American President - The way that these people speak to each other and the way that they talk about their beliefs in the film, I wish real politicians were like that. I loved Douglas' monologue at the end.

American History X - Bite the curb. Nuff said.

In Shawshank the part that gets me is
[Show spoiler]when the warden executes the man that could have exonerated him.

the movie "KIDS". Possibly one of the most depressing movies next to "requiem for a dream".

Have you seen Bully or Ken Park? Kids is nothing compared to those.

Even though you know whats gonna happen Troy I always root for Hector.
Glory and Titanic are a couple of others that come to mind.

I prefer Kids to Ken Park any day, emotionally, Kids holds much better. Larry Clark can be interesting but he does focus a bit too much around sex and teens.

My suggestions for better or worst:

River's Edge
Gummo
Julian Donkey-boy
Happiness
Barton Fink
Babel
The King
Naked Lunch

Someone already mentioned it but I would have to go with Requiem for a Dream, everytime I watch that film, I just want to hug someone once it is over.

two movies that i always get teary eyed at the end....

Armageddon-That final speech by Bruce Willis always gets to me, no matter how many times i've seen it....

Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou- "I wonder if he remembers me." Man that always gets to me.

For some reason I can't get into Life Aquatic the same way I can with Royal Tennenbaums.

A truely moving picture, and don't laugh because I'm serious, is Babe Pig in the City.
