Default So how many PS3's have burned out for you?

I'm about to receive replacement number 2 (second complete system failure in less than a year).

This is getting REALLY annoying since Sony offers only a one year from purchase warranty and zero warranty on the defective referb units they send back out, and they charge %50 of the cost of a NEW PS3 for a crap referb unit. WTF?! I am horrified to think to how much money I've paid just for a working PS3 (and I still don't have one).

So if this latest unit comes back with a problem, I'm just not sure what the hell to do. Possibly waste yet more money and buy a new PS3, or suck up the losses and write the experience off as a learning lesson (avoid all consoles except for Nintendo).

If I wasn't addicted like a heroin addict to media steaming, I'd toss the machine and go back to PC gaming, but dammit, the PS3 puts the xbox to shame as a streaming media player so it's almost worth it for that alone (plus the blu).

I bought my PS3 the day the MGS bundle came out. Two weeks ago, it shit the bed on me!! Less than 4 months of light use, and I got a corrupted HD and the thing wouldn't even boot up!!

Add that to two 360 failures (in 3 years) and I am one pissed off gamer!!

My 40 gig is still kicking. But then again I have never had a game system go out on me........ wait, I take that back, my 360 gave me the red ring of death.

Game systems usually last longer if you don't spill beer on them!!

I am still on my original 80 GB PS3 from January 2008, so it isn't too old yet. Knock on wood.

I have the feeling I'm just unlucky in this particular situation.

It's just so frustrating because I'm locked in! Too much money invested in games/accessories to totally abandon the platform, but yet, too many invaluable features to live without it. The PS3 is such a woman.
