Casino Royale Disc Missing! - Blu-ray Forum

Opened up Casino Royale today only to see that there was no disc inside! Ordered it from Amazon and it was sealed perfectly, had to do a double take when I opened it. Anyone else have this happen or am I the only schmuck?

I would tell them because I know it happens sometimes. I worked at a video store and one day we received our order of 20 Ocean's 11 DVDs, but there ended up being 5 copies that were all sealed that did not have the disc in the box when I personally opened them. I saw this happen maybe two or three other times while working there with single copies of DVD's. Our supplier never had a problem when I called to report the problem.

Amazon is great on returns/exchanges. Call them up and they'll send you out a replacement/return envelope, no cost to you.

On a side note - I notice a lot of Blu-Rays up for sale on Ebay that are disc only - no case or anything. Sounds like someone on the manufacturer side may be keeping a few discs for themselves...

Either that or they are already getting pirated / stolen from Blockbuster!

That and they shoplift them out of the store. Cut the case with a razor blade and walk out with the disc...

Amazon already sent me out of new disc, I wasn't concerned about them, they're good with that. Weird though, out of the thousands of discs I bought over the years never got an empty case before.

Hello.

I had this happen to me twice already.

First time was on the 103 disc set of Will & Grace Boxed Set (Complete Seasons 1-8) ... On the Season 1 DVD case 2, a disc was missing.

Amazon.co.uk sent me a replacement order, and I returned the faulty one. They made no demands or asked for anything.

Second time only a few months later, bought The OC complete season 3 on a FNAC store here mainland Portugal - only to get to my island and realize another DVD was missing from one of the DVD cases. When I got back there a couple weeks later they also replaced my purchase with a brand new one.

Unfortunately either someone is taking the DVDs and keeping them / reselling them, or some manufacturers need to rethink their procedures

My advice is, if you buy something, open it and check it straight away. If you are buying something in a store somewhere, open it before leaving the store.

I guess it is not that rare of a thing if they replace it no problems (which they should).

I hate shoplifters. Who would want the disc and not the case? That's pointless.

I never had a problem with movies, but I did get a video game for christmas that didn't have a disc in it. It was from Bestbuy and they replaced it without a problem.
