Default cleaning sixaxis, dualshock3?

My controller is dirty on the sticks, making them sicky... is there a "best" way to clean this?

i would use a paper towel or wash cloth with a tiny bit of water, then dry it really good, but this just what i would do. so if something goes wrong and your controller doesnt work any more dont get mad at me.

I use kitchen wipes, the wet type that you use to wipe down kitchen surfaces, etc, they clean the pads and kill off any germs lurking too

Just towel dry them afterwards, just make sure your PS3 is off at the wall before you do this though, you are bound to hit the PS button at some point and turn the thing on!

Works for me.

Soak in the tub overnight. Then, put down the snacks!

go to oyur local apple store and buy some stuff called "Klear Screen"

i've only seen it in apple stores, but that stuff is meant to clean laptops, it's anti static. alcohol and ammonia free.

so even if you get some of the solution inside your controller, just wait for it to dry and you don't have to worry about anything in the absolute.

chances are u can find the similar product at any other computer or electronics store, like fry's, but htis is the only one i've tried.

i don't so much eat snacks while i play, but my hands get ReaLLY REALLY sweaty when i play, and i eventually end up getting some gunk on my controllers. in any case, that is what i use to clean it.

just a spritz, and a wipe, and a buff, and yuo're as good as new if not better.

One of my dogs ate the rubber pad on the R3 (thumb) button of one of my controllers. Does anyone know if I can just buy a replacement thumb pad?

yeah, it's possible, there are places online that sell only the little things like that.
or you could steal it off a display sixaxis at a target/sonystyle/best buy/fry's/etc etc...
