I just found out that Olivia Munn is in this movie I don't know how big her role is but her being in it is a plus.

After Club Dread and Beerfest, I started getting the impression that Super Troopers was sort of a fluke for them.

Beerfest was a lot better than Club Dread, but it's miles away from Super Troopers.

Hopefully Club Dread was the low point and this next one is another Super Troopers. Guess we'll see. At very least I'll rent anything they put out.

Really? I think Beerfest was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen(and I've seen it like 20 times - literally) Right there with Team America and Caddyshack. I agree that Club Dread sucks, but I'd have to flip-flop Super Troopers and Beerfest in your original statement.

I guess it's a matter of taste.

I own Beerfest on BR, so I liked it enough to pick it up... but it didn't do it for me as well as Super Troopers did. I think we can both agree the real pooper was Club Dread though.

I still laugh about several lines from Super Troopers (some of them mentioned in this thread), yet I can't really think of any from Beerfest, if that gives you a sense of where I'm coming from.

Well the Redband Trailer has finally been released, but no release date

Quote:
Collider.com has posted this new Red Band trailer for The Slammin' Salmon, the new comedy from the Broken Lizard Troupe.

In the film, directed by Kevin Heffernan, Former heavyweight boxing champ, Cleon Salmon (Michael Clarke Duncan), is the celebrity owner of an upscale Miami restaurant. In debt to the Yakuza, the Champ "inspires" his waitstaff with a one-night-only contest: top selling waiter gets $10,000; lowest selling waiter gets his face punched in by the Champ himself.

Thus far. It looks funny. Usually the actual movies are FAR funnier than they seem during the Trailer. Thats been proven every single time. I would say this is the funniest looking BL trailer for a movie.

If this comes out this summer...

Comedies

Slammin' Salmon
Funny People
I Love you, Man (March)
Year One

I think those 4 will compete real hard with

Pineapple Express
Tropic Thunder
Step Brothers
Role Models

2009 in general is shaping up to be more exciting than 2008

Notorious (1/16)
Friday the 13th (2/13)
Watchman (3/6)
I Love You, Man (3/20)
Monsters vs. Aliens (3/27)
Fast and the Furious (4/3)
The Soloist (4/24)
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (5/1)
Star Trek (5/8)
Angels and Demons (5/15)
Night at the Museum 2 (5/22)
Terminator Salvation (5/22)
UP (5/29)
Year One (6/19)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (6/26)
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (7/1)
Public Enemies (7/1)
2012 (7/8)
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (7/15)
Funny People (7/31)
GI Joe (8/7)
Inglorious Bastards (8/21)
Toy Story 3D (10/2)
Disney's A Christmas Carol (11/6)
The Wolfman (11/6)
Sherlock Holmes (11/20)
Slammin' Salmon (TBA)

And theres always movies that are unheard of until 2-3 months before release that turn out to be good

If someone liked ST and BF should they give Club Dread a chance?

yes, but it's a very different movie. it's a parody of over the top cheesy slasher flicks mixed in with the usual BL shenanigans
