Default Horror on Blu-ray...

Hey guys, glad to be here!

I'm a huge horror fan and I was wondering when or if any of the horror films have been announced yet. The main ones I'm interested in are Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist, The Omen (not the remake), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (either the original or the remake), The Shining, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Event Horizon, Alien, etc. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

I wanna see those come to Blu-ray too.

Bram Stoker's Dracula has been announced but there is no release date yet (BD exclusive title)

Alien and The Omen are Fox releases and thus exclusive to BD

The Exorcist is a Warner title and thus will be coming to BD

Exorcism of Emily Rose is I believe already out in the UK so that one's just a matter of time

The Shining is announced for Blu-ray - no date yet

Event Horizon is Paramount so will be released on BD

Anyone else have further info?

I just saw that Re-Animator is being re-released at Best Buy this week. That's one of my all time favorite horror movies. I would love to see that on Blu-Ray. Also all of the Romero zombie flicks would be cool. So many awesome horror flicks that could be put out for us.

You got my hopes up. I bought the ANOES 2 disc SE and it's awesome, but I would totally buy a new HD version with or without extras. I love horror.

I am a bit of a horror movie collector, and I own 3 copies of each ANOES. The first set was on VHS, then on DVD, then again on DVD when they released the original artwork. So ANOES coming to blu-ray is a dream come true. If anyone has info on when it will be on blu-ray, POST IT!

I love horror films.
I'd like to see Dracula, Phantasm, and many others. We do have some good ones though ala The Descent.

I think Anchor Bay has a great list of Horror Titles, its too bad they havent gone Bluray yet.Maybe soon.
I know they finally got the rights to Phantasm 1&3 {April 10th release date on DvD} with hopefully 2&4 on the way.Plus they got Evil Dead,Re-Animator and a load of others like The Masters of Horror series.Let hope they go BR soon.

Out of the current horror films in development to be released on Blu-ray, the only ones I'll be interested in purchasing are "Identity" and possibly "Stir of Echoes"...that's it. It sure is going to be a slow wait for the ones I really want.

On a side note, I really wish the U.K. cover art would be the version to be released over here for "Identity" as its much superior to the cover art they are going with that was on the standard U.S. DVD version (the cover art on the U.K. Blu-ray was also the original theatrical poster).

Default indeed

I`m sure there are some good ones in the works ,It all depends on what studio they were made by.I did enjoy the descent (and was suprised by it )though it is not a "classic" horror film as per. Halloween,Friday the 13th,or Nightmare on Elm St. Also the studio`s have new productions released weekly that are important because they are new movies.Trust me i`m sure there are some titles in the works .
