Default HDMI cables - what's the difference?

I'm getting ready to hook up my new tv, PS3 and blu-ray player this weekend. I'm looking around at cables, and I see there are all kinds to choose from. 14 gauge to 28 gauge, and other ratings. Is any of this a big deal? I don't want to spend more than about 40 or 50 bucks for each one. Can I get good cables for that price? Does the gauge matter that much?

Regarding cables, the smaller the gauge number (the "xxAWG"), the thicker it is. But anyway, with HDMI cable runs under 10ft, any cable of decent construction will do the job.

Monoprice cables are highly rated among enthusiasts.

So can I assume that 28 gauge is good enough for a 6 or 8 ft. cable?

Agree with monoprice.com. Great site, have purchased multiple times and, they also back there product up. Had to replace a cable they sent that was bad, and they sent another one immediately. Great customer service.

That is what you are looking for. I don't quite remember the price but I purchased from Monoprice and paid around $6.
