The Sony PS3 was the very first BLU-RAY player with HDMI 1.3. Every new BLU-RAY player released this year will have HDMI 1.3.

Sony PS3 with HDMI 1.3
Sony BDP-S300 BLU-RAY with HDMI 1.3(June 2007)
Sony BDP-S500 BLU-RAY with HDMI1.3 (late 2007)
Samsung BD-1200 BLU-RAY player with HDMI 1.3 (March-April 2007)

Release dates are subject to change do to production delays, etc.

sony bdps1 has had 1.3 since release it was never advertised, but now they are saying it on the boxes... it was announced that it had 1.3 at the dealer show last month or so... the reason bdps1 release was pushed back was because they were adding 1.3

so if the blu ray player encodes 1.3 do you still need a 1.3 receiver to take advantage of the capabilities. basically does a old receiver pass the 1.3 signal through or does it down grade. i just wnat to know if i need to upgrade my receiver to take advantage of the 1.3 capabilities. also i read that the samsung bd-1200 and the sony bdp-300 do not decode dolbytrue hd and dts-hd. so does that mean they do not have 1.3 capabilities?

Here is a link to all your HDMI questions

http://www.hdmi.org/about/faq.asp#q4_9

HDMI 1.3 is backwards compatible with devices that use older versions of HDMI. No BLU-RAY player currently on the market have built in dolby true or DTS-HD decoding. Possible in late 2007 there will be some high-end $1,000-$1,500 BLU-RAY players with those features. Also later this year HDMI 1.3 receivers with dolbytrue HD and DTS-HD decoding should arrive on the market.
