Default hddvd on the ps3 four 370$

so the ps3 works with "all" usb complaint products i know it works with the 360 cam no problem plug and go. would this work?/ has any pluged in a a dvd drive and threw ylldog a bunet somthing?

I have not tried it but i am sure if you got the correct drivers for it there should not be a problem.

I was wondering, is the HD DVD player for the 360 a usb one? And if so can you put it in the ps3? That would be cool and would really piss microsoft off but my guess is they already thought of that. Actually it can't be possible surly? Microsoft aint that dumb?

There is a "How To" on hooking up a DVD burner to the PS3 in Linux via USB on the qj.net PS3 Wiki so this is definatly possible.

IMO Finding a driver shouldn't be an issue as one could theoretically reuse the Windows HD-DVD driver in Linux via a program called ndiswrapper.

If I it wouldn't help M$-DVD financially I would actually mess with this and try to get it to work.
