SonY STR-DG720 Questions - Blu-ray Forum

I've got my ps3 set up to this and every time i play a movie or game it says PCM 48 on the receiver? What is that and does it have any barring on the sound? Also how come I only get the front 2 speakers working when I have the radio or anything else on. I just got this receiver so i'm still trying to get everything with it squared away.

First question is your tv have audio coming out of it also?? if so you need to go into the amp menu, and go to option 6-Video and change the audio to Amp, not Amp+TV. Amp+TV will only give you 2 channel and the TV. This is the most common issue I have with this receiver.

Are you sending your audio out via hdmi? If so is your PS3 set to bitstream or linear pcm? It sounds like you may be only be getting 2 channel pcm if you don't have your PS3 set to linear pcm audio out
