Default Energy C-500 VS Energy RC-50

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me a simple difference and what they would prefer between the Energy C-500 and the RC-50?

I'm looking at each and can not decide which to get for my home theatre fronts.

They are similar in prices, the RC-50s appear to weigh alot more than the C-500s.

Mainly for BD movies and Music... hard rock/metal of course.
Thanks!!!

If you go to the Energy website http://www.energy-speakers.com/na-en/products/ you can compare the two. I have the C-500's that I purchased from Futureshop on-sale and I love them, auditioned them against Klipsch RF-62 and Polk Montor 50's. I have them hooked up to my Yamaha HTR-6160 (V663) and they are handled very well.

Thanks man, I did compare them on the website and I was still wondering.

Looks like I will go C-500s from Futureshop as well.

Ok yeah the main difference is the power output and the weight of the speakers. Makes sense.

The C-500s are all I need

You will not be disappointed... ensure you break them in for at least 100 hours, mine are close to 150hours or so and sound fantastic They handle the low end fairly well, but if you have a decent sub set the crossover at 80, and let the sub handle it, also, comes with bass port plugs as well if you need it

Sounds good! Ok so sub crossover at 80 and should I set the speakers themselves to full band?

Wow, I have the C-500s(Energy) as my fronts now and what a difference!!! They sound incredible. Can't wait to have them broken in, about 90 more hours to go. Can't wait to crank these bad boys!
