Default Burton/Schumacher Batman films officially announced for Japan to be released Feb 11

http://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/20081031/whv2.htm

All will have TrueHD and look to be BD-50s with plenty of extras.

I don't believe we've had any details on the US release, but they will probably be the exact same discs and will be released around the same time.

These will only be sold as a box set in Japan, not sure about the US but I wouldn't count on separate releases since Warner hasn't made the Matrix films available separately yet.

Box set works for me. What I want is some sort of confirmation the US is even going to get Batman Blu-Rays. So far, the UK and Asia has confirmations for Blu-Rays starring Batman, but the US got nothing. I would be seriously disappointed if the US doesn't get them in December, as then Warner Brothers might wait until the third Batman film to release them then, and that can take a good three years. Please Warner Bros. Release the older films in the US. Think of the money you can make when Batman fans buy them with the Dark Knight.

(I'm not a US supremeist, I just live here and want to see hi-def versions of four of my favorite films.)

The Japanese release has been indefinitely delayed:

Incorrect. YesAsia sent emails out stating the new release date is now 12/31. It's been moved up from the original Feb date.

I wouldn't count on it. Pre-orders in Japan require a longer window than that, and the box set listing has been completely removed from WHV.jp and amazon.co.jp .

12/31 of 2009. Not 2008.

Yup I just received that email from YesAsia.com . Which will hold up my T2 Steelbook as I asked for everything in one order. UGH. Hopefully they work on the price too, $186 US is a bit much for that set even though I pre ordered it.

I pre-ordered the UK ones. MUCH cheaper.

YesAsia is giving me an opportunity at canceling as a courtesy as they don't normally let you cancel pre orders so I'm taking them up on it.
