So my daughter's school is doing a magazine subscription drive, to raise funds. I was flipping through the catalog, and noticed two magazines. I'd only get one sub. though, so I need to decide which one to get.
The choices are : - Sound and Vision Magazine - Home Theater Magazine. I don't know alot about either, but I would like one that discusses the tech side of products more. I'm interested in how things work, not just that they do. |

There both crap. Pretty pictures and little content. Ask if you can just donate cash. Both of you will be much better off.

I have had sound and vision before. Cancelled it due to too many "other" types of reviews(games, digital cameras, car audio, etc...), I am going to give HomeTheater a shot since The PerfectVision bit the dust. I have bought HomeTheater at the newsstand before but was not that impressed with their reviews. Got sick of sound and vision so I guess the only thing left is HomeTheater.

I would go with Widescreen Review. Their bias towards HD-DVD during the format wars was big minus though.

I would go with none. Nowadays he who is resourceful can get all the info he needs on any topic on this very powerful tool called the internet.

I have had subscriptions to both magazines. One word of warning is that Sound & Vision for the past two years was basically a HD DVD fanboy rag as Toshiba was one of their main advertisers. To be honest both have very similar content.

I prefer to read magazines. I work on a computer all day long and would prefer not to sit in front of my computer at home during my off hours just to read something. I subscribe to 4 or five different magazines and enjoy reading them.
