Superman Doomsday available now only at Best Buy - Blu-ray Forum

While the regular release date for this Blu is Nov. 25, Best Buy it is available at Best Buy starting today, Nov. 2. How or why this is I couldn't even begin to tell you, but my local BB had a small floor display for WB Animation DC releases prominently advertising the release of Wonder Woman in Feb.

Yep. Picked it up today.

They didn't have it out yet when I stopped. He had to check the ad to make sure it was available today. And then went in the back and grabbed it for me. Now to trade in my old DVD version.

And it's just Best Buy's way of pushing Blu-Ray on people. By having early release exclusives on Blu-Ray, there's a chance people might be swayed. That's why Hancock is out at Best Buy on Blu on the 9th.

Same deal. I went in after 1 in the afternoon and they still didn't have it on the shelf. They weren't even sure it was supposed to be out and had to check their ad, their website and the in store inventory report to verify it. Finally they went in the back and dug for almost fifteen minutes before they found it.

I thought about picking it up on dvd awhile back but never got around to it. I finally might pick it up on blu ray.

I borrowed my brother's DVD to see it. I'd rate it a B-, and not worth adding to my BD collection.

No lossless audio though. It does make a difference.

This is why I'm torn about replacing my DVD. Wal Mart has it for 21 and change, which is a lot better than Best Buy's 27, but I'm still on the fence about it. Very odd that Justice League got TrueHD and they crippled Superman.

Interesting note: I saw this available for rent today in my local Blockbuster (Miami Beach). Only one copy.

Also Gotham Knight had no lossless. No word on Wonder Woman yet.

I definitely recommend it as a blind buy. I didn't see the BD version of course but I really enjoyed it, especially now with the Doomsday storyline on Smallville picking up steam.
