Default Sony 700w 7.1 Receiver (Model STRDG920)

Anybody have thoughts or reviews of the Sony 700w 7.1 Receiver (Model STRDG920). I'm looking to start building my setup, and probably have a budget of $700 for a receiver. Anybody love this one or hate it? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Own it, love it. There are a lot of options in that price range, audition and see what you like. My 920 hasn't missed a beat though. You can see some photos in my gallery.

Here is a glowing review on the 820, a step below the 920.

techdepot.com has the sony 920 for $370 plus shipping, so just under $400, I am still back and forth between this and the pioneer 1018, but with this new price drop and my familiarity with sony receivers, I think i am starting to lean... Sony.

I have been researching and thinking for 2 weeks about getting the Sony STRDG920. I just got the Sony s350 Blu-Ray player and would like to be able to decode the better uncompressed sounds found on some of the new Blu-Ray movies. This would replace my Sony STRDB930 which I would move to the TV in the computer room.

On Amazon the price changes every day but is now only $348.04 from Electronics Expo and I'm very close to going ahead with the purchase. From all my research it's a very good receiver and I'm partial to Sony as most of my equipment is Sony and I've never had a problem with any of it.

$348.04 is the best price you will find it, I would buy it NOW. I have both the 350 and the 920, you can see them in my gallery. It is really a great receiver!!

Thanks for a quick reply - I believe I will go through with buying it even though I'm spending too much money lately. Just last night I ordered the Sony SR11 HD video camera to replace my old Sony video camera. I was waiting till I got the Blu-Ray so I could burn and play the HD format it produces. You have some nice pictures and the GUI of the receiver setup is so much cooler than my old receivers settings setup.

Yes Jump on that, I just bought it, will be here next week, I paid $389.60 and then the next day it was the $350 your talking about..... If I had only waited one more day.... funny tho, it was $430, next day $389 so I thought, wow I better get it now.... then the next day $350

But anyways, yes, get it now, that is the best price I have found, everywhere else is gonna add shipping and tax....

For some reason I didn't buy it last night and am glad I waited one day. Right now it's $321.99 so I just bought it no less than 5 minutes ago.

What a great deal and I won't look back even if it goes cheaper tomorrow.
