Default Rock Revolution sold less than 3000 units

Unfortunately, October was not nearly as kind to the third instrument-based rhythm game released during the month, Rock Revolution. According to NPD figures, Konami's critically savaged game sold less than 3,000 units across the entirety of the country during the month. According to the data, the game sold 1,442 for the 360, 816 for the PS3, 666 for the DS, and only two copies for the Wii.

I find the 2 on the Wii to be a bit hard to believe.

I guess this is the sort of game that a programmer (or anyone else affiliated with it) doesn't want to list on his/her resume.

Sorry, I didn't copy the Wii correction...

[UPDATE] Suspect indeed: The number for the Wii version of Rock Revolution was so low because it didn't actually arrive in stores until November 11, whereas all three other versions went on sale October 15. Whether it exceeds its siblings' sales will be seen next month. For October, the game generated just over $132,000 in sales.

That's terrible but so is the game (so I've read).
I saw a picture of the drum set and it has fail written all over it. That's too bad though for the people who made it. Maybe there just isn't enough room for 3 music/rythm based games in the market.

the real question is why would they even bring it out around the same time as Guitar Hero World Tour and Rockband 2? because the avarage customer only cares about either Guitar Hero or Rockband but to add a random game that barely anyone has heard about its like why bother?

I suspect the only reason Konami even attempted to create it was to give some credence to their lawsuit against Harmonix.

at best this game will be a collector item 10 years from now, since nobody is going to buy it.

Rock Revolution should've been the standard, since Konami had it on Arcades before Rockband and Guitar Hero came out with it, but now it's too late, Rockband and Guitar Hero are more than enough for this type of games.

3000 units is a surprise, yes. I wasn't expecting a greatest hit, or even 100k units. But 3000?

No one who did any homework on Rock Revolution bought it:

41 songs; None are original recordings, most of which are already on Rock Band, and in some cases Rock Band has the true version. By contrast Rock Band 2 and GHWT have over 80 songs each on the disc alone. And on Rock Band and Guitar Hero you get a mic. Talking of the songlist, none of Konami's orginal music was there either. All those songs from DDR, Beatmania, Guitar Freaks, Drummania, Pop'n Music, and more they could've put in without paying any royalties. Shame on you K. This game earned its failure.

Maybe we'll see some irony next year when Rock Band or Guitar Hero signs a deal to put Konami music on their games.

That's 3,000 more than expected.

I saw it on G4 and they gave it a 2 out of 5, which seemed kind.

This game looks to be for the person who has everything and just feels like buying more music. For everyone else, it's a pass.
