Default HDMI problems

I searched and searched with nothing coming up. How can I get HDMI to work on my PS3? I tried going through the settings and when I hit HDMI it goes blank for 30 second then it goes back to the original settings of R/W/Y. I am using a 720P LCD TV and it has to HDMI outputs.

It sounds like there is a handshake issue. When you hit HDMI, hit X again or something like that when the screen goes blank. What kind of TV do you have.

IF I understand you..
Your TV has 2 INPUTS.. probably HDMI 1, HDMI 2
and you are connected with a HDMI cable
directly from your PS3 to the TV

IF above is correct, try the other Input on your TV
but I suspect that you have a bad cable

check your settings in the PS3 for output type

Are you trying to send a 1080p siganal to your set from the PS3? That might be it, if your set won't accept it. Uncheck 1080p in the output resolutions settings area.

Ok, when you select HDMI and the screen goes blank, press left, and then press x. This forces it to work. If that doesn't work, than there is something else going on.

are you switching inputs on you tv? when you switch over to HDMI and the screen goes black, switch over to whichever HDMI imput your using and you'll see the confirmation screen asking if you want to keep those settings.
