I got lucky and had a BD35 player thrown in for free on the purchase of a 46pz800u (1080p) set. I've never owned a BR player, but have had HD cable for 3 years. Is it even anything to get excited about? I've been watching 1080i feeds of Discovery and all the others for years on a 1080i CRT set.
Anyways, should I even bother buying a disc? Years and years ago I bought DVDs left and right. But I stopped because it became apparent I rarely watched them more than once. So you can cancel out suggesting the latest and greatest new release comedy or action flick. How about Planet Earth? Is there a definitive BR disc I can buy to evaluate the picture quality on my new TV? Should I just buy AVIA or DVE on BR and call it a day? I can't imagine using it for anything other than renting discs (which I also haven't done since around 2005). I can't find myself buying DVDs, so I find it even harder to buy BRs which are even more expensive. Wish the Nirvana Unplugged DVD was on BR HD. For some reason in my mid-twenties I just can't find the attention span to watch a scripted movie for 2 hours. |
